To help ease the burden of the water rate increase, PWSA adopted the “Bill Discount Program,” a customer assistance program designed to provide customers with financial relief if they are having difficulty paying their water bill. Customers are eligible if they are at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level. The program is managed by Dollar Energy Fund, and they will work with PWSA customers to determine eligibility. If approved, you will receive a 50-percent reduction of your fixed or minimum monthly water charges for one year. Eligible customers may be asked to verify income on a yearly basis.
All customers are reminded that PWSA offers a variety of options to pay their water bill. It’s always important to pay your bill on time. In addition to mailing your payment, we also offer online bill pay, remote one-time payments, as well as the ability to pay in person at any 7-Eleven or Family Dollar, and at our administrative offices located at 1200 Penn Avenue. ALCOSAN Clean Water Assistance Fund
ALCOSAN's Clean Water Assistance Fund was approved by ALCOSAN's Board of Directors in October and is also available to eligible residential customers. The fund provides a $30 credit every three months to qualifying low-income homeowners and tenants with accounts in their name for water or sewage services. Eligibility follows the same income requirements as PWSA's Bill Discount Program and is also administered by Dollar Energy Fund.
